1. Well, first you need to take picture of object from the distance. I took a scenic flight and have made some shots while we were taking off.

2. Now you need to tell Photoshop what suppose to be out of focus.
- Press Q (to switch to the Quick Mask mode)
- Press D (to set foreground and background colours to white and black)
- Press G (to choose Gradient tool)
- Choose Reflected Gradient (with '[' and ']' buttons)
- Hold Shift, click and move your mouse up or down from the _focused_ area. It doesn't matter which gradient you create: white-black or black-white, I'll tell later why. Just bear in mind which one is for out of focus areas.
- Press B and use brush tool to adjust mask you've just created.
- Press Q again.

3. Choose Window -> Channels from the main menu and cklick 'Save selection as channel' button (2nd one at the bottom). You'll see new channel Alpha1 based on your selection.

4. Press Ctrl+D to deselect. There is a reason to to that. You're going to apply Lens Blur filter to the whole image.

5. Choose Filter -> Blur -> Lens Blur. Choose Alpha1 and use Invert checkbox if filter mixed up with black and white colors of the Alpha1.

6. You're getting really close now. Select Radius in the Iris section, play with other parameters, then press OK!

Any questions?

Yay! I totally dig it! I used a photo that I took recently at the top of our hill but focused well. Figured I see what it would anyway. Now that I know I can do it, I'll have to go back up there and take a good shot of the park and try it. Thanks for sharing. :peace::thanks:
